Robert Hirsch is a well-regarded curator, educator, imagemaker, and writer. His work has appeared in numerous one-person and group exhibitions. Recently his work was on view at the Contemporary Museum, Baltimore, Stefan Stux Gallery, New York City, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo. Hirsch has taught at SUNY Buffalo and was the Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Center for Exploratory and Perceptual Art (CEPA Gallery) in Buffalo, NY. He is the author of Seizing the Light: A History of Photography; Exploring Color Photography; and Photographic Possibilities: The Expressive Use of Ideas, Materials, and Processes. He has also written articles for a variety of national publications. Currently he is a columnist for Photovision magazine (www.photovisionmagazine.com) and is teaching an online history of photography course (www.enmu.edu/photohistory).
